When God was creating the earth, He said it was good after every day and after everything He completed. We are made in the image of God. Genesis 1:26-27 says that we are made in their image!
Now, that doesn’t mean that we are made in the image of angels or heavenly things. We are made in the image of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We are image bearers of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
So that means you are not defective; you are not screwed up! You are made in the image of Jesus! He breathed life into your lungs. He formed you from dirt! You are His creation, just as the world was God's creation.
Seeing our lives that way should completely change our mindset. It should change our thinking to know every morning when we wake up that God gave us that breath.
When we wake up, we should put on Christ and focus all of our attention on Him! As image-bearers, we are called to live in a relationship with Christ. When we live outside of His design or when we deny Christ altogether, we long for something that no amount of money, drugs, sex, or toys will ever fill. We are made to be in a relationship with the One who made us!
